HI I brought a cane picnic basket from the local charity shop and I wanted to know how the best way to clean it would be, it is not overly dirty but there is small amount of dust in the weave and has a lack lustre look too it. Any help would be appreciated thank you!

I was wandering through my local park the other day, when I came across an old wooden type of picnic basket, not unlike what's seen in old movies. It was even sitting on a red and white checkerboard pattern picnic blanket, obviously set there by whoever brought it. Since nobody was around, I sneaked a peek inside, and saw all manners of good food that someone had packed.
I looked around and didn't see anyone, apparently they were in another part of the park. That's when I opened the basket, pulled down my pants, and pinched a loaf into the basket. I wiped my rear clean with the picnic blanket, pulled my pants back up and walked off.
Several minutes later, though I was on the other side of the park, I could hear someone screaming about there being crap in their picnic basket. Yup, great day for a picnic, I thought.
